Call2Teams is cloud middleware from Dstny that connects Microsoft Teams to an existing phone system or SIP trunk, so users make and receive external calls inside the Teams client they already use. It runs in Microsoft Azure on Microsoft-certified session border controllers. Nothing is installed on site, and it is configured through a web portal.
Live in Minutes Call2Teams goes live on a customer’s own tenant in minutes. No change to their numbers or phone service, nothing to install, and switched off again if it is not for them. Ask us for a demo.
What Is Call2Teams?
Call2Teams is cloud middleware that voice-enables Microsoft Teams around existing, enterprise-grade telephony. It sits between Teams and any PBX or SIP trunk, so users make and receive external calls in the Teams client they already live in, with nothing installed on site and no change to the numbers or the phone service they have today.
It runs in Microsoft Azure, served from clusters on four continents, on session border controllers approved for Microsoft Direct Routing — a certified, enterprise-grade platform carrying thousands of concurrent calls. Everything is configured from a web portal, by you, in minutes.
Why Partners Sell It
Because the customer already has Teams and already has a phone system, and Call2Teams joins the two without replacing either. There is no Microsoft calling plan to buy, and the whole thing is priced per user, per month, pro-rata from day one.
It works on the Dstny Voice and Yeastar systems and the TruSIP trunks you already sell, which makes it an upgrade for the base you have as much as a reason to win new business. TruSIP is channel-only: you provision it, you bill it, and the customer stays yours.
Teams on One Side. Your Telephony on the Other.
Three parts and one call path. Nothing on the customer’s side changes; Call2Teams does the joining.

Three Routes to Teams Voice
Same platform, same portal, same per-user price. The route is about what the customer already has on the other side of Teams.
Direct Routing
Keep the PBX or trunks. Add Teams.“We have a phone system and lines we like. We just want them in Teams.”
SIP into Teams from the customer’s existing PBX or SIP trunk, with no Microsoft operator certification needed. A PBX pathway keeps queues, IVR and recording where they are, with accurate line state after transfers; a trunk pathway keeps existing numbers and call plans.
- Works with Dstny Voice, Yeastar and TruSIP trunks
- Users sync automatically from Microsoft 365
- Numbers, routing and recording stay on the PBX
- Emergency calling handled through the trunk
Operator Connect
Microsoft-certified. Teams-only customers.“Our IT team wants to manage numbers inside the Teams Admin Center.”
Microsoft’s certified route for PSTN calling in Teams. Once live, the customer assigns numbers to users directly in the Teams Admin Center, and Dstny handles the Microsoft peering, the SBC infrastructure and the certification, so the service is live in weeks rather than the months a self-build takes.
- No PBX and no SBC for the customer to think about
- Numbers managed where IT already works
- The Microsoft-certified badge on the tender
- Same portal and billing as the other routes
Mobile
One business number, desk and handset.“Half our people are never at a desk.”
The Teams extension on the user’s own mobile handset. Calls to the business number ring the mobile; calls made from the mobile show the business number and appear in Teams, with presence to match. There is no app to install and nothing for the user to remember to open.
- Business calls from the handset’s native dialler
- Accurate Teams presence on mobile calls
- Personal and business identities kept apart
- Provisioned from the same portal
Any route → one portal → one TruSIP bill
Which Route Fits?
It is the same Call2Teams. The question is what sits on the other side of Teams — and it is worth asking properly, because the answer changes the shape of the deal rather than the product.
Choose Direct Routing when…
The customer has a phone system or trunks worth keeping — Dstny Voice, Yeastar, TruSIP trunks or anyone else’s. They want the queues, IVR and recording to stay where they are. Or Teams is one endpoint among several: there are desk phones on the wall and a mobile app in pockets, and Teams needs to join them rather than replace them.
This is most of the base you already have, and the fastest route to a live service.
Choose Operator Connect when…
Teams is the only phone system, or is about to be. The IT team wants numbers and users managed in the Teams Admin Center with everything else they look after. There is no PBX and nobody wants one. Or procurement wants the Microsoft-certified route written into the tender.
This is the Teams-first business that has outgrown Microsoft’s own calling plans on price or on features.
Choose Mobile when…
Staff are field-based or hybrid and need one business number on the handset they already carry. Customers ring personal mobiles today and the business loses track of the call. Or the customer wants Teams presence and recording to cover mobile calls as well as desk calls.
Mobile combines with either of the other two: the office on Direct Routing or Operator Connect, the field team on Mobile, one portal across both.
Simple, Predictable Pricing
Per user, per month, pay as you go. The first month is charged pro-rata, so the customer pays from the day they start rather than the start of the month. No Microsoft calling plan, no minimum term, and nothing to buy up front.
- Per user, per month, no minimum term
- Pro-rata from day one
- No change to numbers or existing phone service
- Set up in minutes through the portal, no specialist skills

Call2Teams: Common Questions
What partners ask us most often about Teams calling.
What is the difference between Direct Routing, Operator Connect and Mobile?
Direct Routing joins an existing PBX or SIP trunk to Teams over SIP, so the customer keeps the phone system and numbers they have. Operator Connect is Microsoft’s certified route: there is no PBX, and the customer’s IT team assigns numbers to users directly in the Teams Admin Center. Mobile puts the Teams extension on the user’s mobile handset, so one business number works on the desk and on the move. All three share the same portal and the same per-user pricing.
Which phone systems and SIP trunks does Call2Teams work with?
Any PBX or SIP trunk provider through Direct Routing, including Dstny Voice, Yeastar P-Series and TruSIP SIP trunks. Operator Connect needs no PBX at all, and Mobile works alongside either.
Will the customer’s numbers or existing phone service change?
No. Call2Teams has no impact on existing phone services. Numbers stay where they are, call routing and recording carry on as before, and the service can be switched off again without consequence.
Per user, per month, pay as you go, with the first month charged pro-rata so the customer pays from the day they start rather than the start of the month. Ask us for the current partner rates.
Can the three routes be mixed in one customer?
Yes. A customer might run Direct Routing for the office users on the PBX, Mobile for the field team, and add Operator Connect for a Teams-only site, all from one portal and on one TruSIP bill.
How do I start selling Call2Teams?
Get in touch or call 0333 360 6060 and we will set you up on the portal. If you are not yet a TruSIP partner, start with becoming a partner — we will walk you through Call2Teams alongside the rest of the portfolio.
